Motion Capture Pipeline from Kinect to Unity


As I wanted to learn more about character animations I looked into motion capture and how to use the captured data. With a single Microsoft Kinect camera I was able to record some crude animations that contained a lot of noise. I was able to import the animations into Blender and port it to Rigify, a character animation plugin for Blender. With Blender and Rigify it was possible to cleanup much of the noise and make minor adjustments, such as making the animations loopable. Finally the edited animations could be imported into Unity for all sorts of usage.
